Alan Parsons delivered a detailed blueprint for his Project on their debut, Tales of Mystery and Imagination, but it was on its follow-up, I Robot, that the outfit reached its true etherexthazecuhawdotibantiobe.coinfoing not just its title but concept from Isaac Asimov's classic sci-fi Robot trilogy, this album explores many of the philosophies regarding artificial intelligence -- will it overtake Brand: Mobile Fidelity.

The Alan Parsons Project is an interesting anomaly in pop culture history. The outfit is an anomaly because it was a sort of progressive rock band or art rock band that made concept albums chiefly.

Mar 20,  · The album opens with the incredible instrumental "I Robot". This song is very similar to Pink Floyd, best song on the album. Then follows "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You", a pop-type song with a good lead guitar solo. Then comes the beautiful ballad "Some Other Time". "Breakdown" is from the robot's perspective. Woolfson writes excellent lyrics/5().

"I Robot" is a progressive rock album recorded by "The Alan Parsons Project", engineered by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson. It was released by Arista Records in and re-released on CD in and It was intended to be based on the "I, Robot" stories written by Isaac Asimov, and actually Woolfson spoke with Asimov, who was enthusiastic about it.

I Robot is well-classified as a “crossover prog” album. It’s good, solid s pop-rock with occasional progressive flourishes. Most notably, the album contains four instrumental pieces (although each includes a choir or chorale). One of the more superficial prog embellishments is the notion that this is a “concept album.”.
