Jun 21,  · Walsh co-wrote all but 2 other tracks on the album, lending not only his voice but his skill on the Hammond B3 to the album. Kerry Livgren’s first appearance as a songwriter on the album doesn’t come until track 4, “Belexes,” and his credits run all the way through to the end of the album from there.

The album starts with a cover of The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby which is as wonderfully different from its original as Manfred Mann's Earth Band's several covers of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen songs. For not having any guitars in the band, the band's sound is surprisingly aggressive.
