This is NOT your grandmother's Tom Jones! Rather, a more soulful, heartfelt, bluesier Mr. Jones. Still incredibly strong-voiced as ever. In TIME magazine referred to him as "leather-lunged." Now, some 50 odd years later, the leather has taken on a richer, fuller texture. I think this is the "true" Tom Jones/5().

These could consist of two vinyl LPs in a single 2-LP box, or one double-sided LPs are seven inches across and spin at 45 rotations per minute on your record player. They only have five minutes of playing time per side at most, so they are usually used for singles.

Sep 28,  · I had problems with original purchase back in , returning various faulty vinyl and tape copies of album. It's so easy to look back fondly at vinyl records- which now cost more than cds, but this album on cd sounds far better than I remember it sounding in pre-cd days, doing more justice to one of my favourite vocalists!/5().

Whether or not vinyl sounds better than its digital counterparts has been hotly debated for as long as the mediums have coexisted. The real answer is: it depends. Because records produce an analog signal (real sound is analog) and CDs/mp3s produce digital signals (close approximations or snapshots), vinyl is able to produce a richer, more.

Compared to my vinyl LP purchased back when the album was first released, this CD sounds quite tinny, with overdone highs and a great lack of midrange. As far as the music itself, this is a solid effort, and was Heart's biggest seller, going 5X Platinum (per Wikipedia).
