Let No Man Write My Epitaph was a Hollywood movie featuring Fitzgerald. Until this album was only available on CD as The Intimate Ella, and is considered one of Ella's greatest recordings. Ella's Decca album Ella Sings Gershwin, is in a similar vein, with Ella .

Nov 01,  · Beautiful album of 50s torch songs with subtle piano accompaniment. Ella's voice clear as a bell sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Almost as good as the 'Pure Ella' issue with Ellis Larkin (not the more recent compilation with the same title), dispels any doubt that Ella was the greatest jazz singer of all time and has not yet been surpassed/5(31).
