RED DIRT MUSIC This Band has its musical roots in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The dirt there is red, “Red as the blood in your veins”. So are the dirt roads, the rivers and some of the lakes. All kinds of music Rock and Roll, Country, Blues, Western Swing, etherexthazecuhawdotibantiobe.coinfo passed in and out of Red Dirt Country as they moved from Coast to Coast.

This is as close to the second album we could get, a fine mix of psychedelic folk and blues rock so typical of its period Whilst researching the re-release of the original Artist album Red Dirt CD .

Red Dirt's S/T album from is a true mega rarity as the original pressing. The musical style of this group is blues rock oriented but there are both psychedelic and hard rock elements as well. Their sound is quite raw and the lead singer's voice won't please everyone that's for sure.

Oddly, the bonus tracks on Audio Archives' CD issue, Red Dirt Plus, are more interesting then the contents of the album itself. The first two, Mixed Blessing and Wilting Tree, are long, slow, dark pieces, a long way from the blues, while Three Fair Maidens and Back Alley Sally are fiddle-driven country hoedowns.

The song double-CD features 23 top ten country singles (six of which reached #1 on the country charts). But more important as an assessment of a mature artist is her thirty-first album, Red Dirt Girl (Nonesuch, ). This was the first studio-mixed album since and the first album in which Harris wrote the majority of the songs.

This is previously unreleased material recorded in The disc is split between studio recordings on side 1, and live on side 2. The studio stuff on side 1 is a mix of 2 great prog cuts, and 2 weaker, fiddle driven hoe-down/blue grass style tracks.
